Biker Bash Texas

Well i have learned i should read the whole flyer before going to a meet. turns out that the biker bash texas in granbury was sponsored by a religous MC, complete with christian rock bands trinket stands. it was more mild than wild but i figured i was all the way out there i may as well have a look around.

there where alot of new stock harley trikes but i found a couple of vdubs.

Just a few stock harleys. but lots of vendors almost all of them selling jesus related material and shiny beads.

ooh pbr patio lights, i have to market these things quick

lunch at hanks, interesting place. food was not bad.

a nice little ironhead. it got my vote for the bike contest but i wasn't a judge so....

 death themed trump. had to include it.

i seriously could not figure this one out. all i could think when i looked a it was, so thats what ADHD looks like,

 ok i took this pixture for a reason. more is not better. notice the insane amount of paint work on the bagger its got air brush skulls. tribal (yes tribal) and every dark custom accessory offered. next to it is a revtech based bobber with simple classic paint. its a good exapmple of the variance of the term "custom Paint"

i decided to break out a stabilo pencil and mock up a paint scheme. this is just a rough outline so i have an idea if i want to head in that direction.

ok so, its not done. infact it changed alot

I fired the bitch up about 5 weeks ago and it puked oil everywhere. found a busted oil line so i tore it down and replaced all the oil lines. I ended up missing the pancho run, so i started phase two.

so far i have rebuilt the super E

picked up crinkle back teardrop off the the chop cult.

threw in an accel coil and 8mm plug wires

pandemoneum choppers frstr tank. got that primed

mounted the tank so its real sturdy.



i still have to finish the kick start conversion kit. but first i am going scibble on the tank a little and work out a paint scheme.

Almost done!

New rear fender and strut
New taillight
Recycled z bars
New flyrite grips
Distressed leather biltwell seat
New controls
Switched the front end to an 03 xl front end (was actually a bitch to do)
New clutch and throttle cables
New primary cover

Now it's time to paint

Wiring sucks

In my opinion nothing suck as bad as wiring especially when you are working on bike that had really bad 22 gauge wiring patch job done on it. I am almost done then I get to see if i did it right

Why ordering parts online sucks

I tried the new neck cups And they didn't fit, did some more research and found out that the the out that they fit all 74 harley's except ironhead. Which would have helped to know when ordering. So I orders some ironhead only cups from bro's manufacturing hopefully these work and a I can get the '74 back on the road

3 on the tree for me

Spent the day working, but found time to put a grant 14" wheel in the truck and took some time to learn what a pain in the ass three on the tree can be. i am leaning toward keeping the beast. so i think i am going to use this as a stance and look i am thinking about...

tomoorow i think i am going to talke the 74 iron neck cups again. frustrating, very frustrating...

The 3rd phase phase eventual opening of the deathprone vintage and custom store is on its way from alabma to the garage.

you can't open a shop without a shop truck and you can't call it vintage with out a vintage truck. this will be a fun project and learning experience.
